Things I love about writing for kids:
Giggles ~ Surprises ~ Discoveries ~ Thrills
I first discovered children’s books and magazines as a kid and they followed me into adulthood as I began working in the children’s department of a public library. I then moved on to become a children’s bookseller and later returned to the library world where I am now working with high school students.
The urge to write my own stories crept up on me after my son was born. Motherhood allowed me to connect with words in a new and marvellous way as we read and reread a huge quantity of children’s books in all shapes, textures, and sizes.
I happily gave my urge complete freedom as I wrote, took classes, and learned everything I could on the craft and business of writing. I submitted countless queries, stories, and articles before finally reaching my goal – getting published!
